Hello there, and welcome! I'm an Ecuadorian academic currently living in The Netherlands. I work for the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) at Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR). I lead the partnership agreement between ISS and the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) in Ecuador.
In my research, I focus on the use of fine geospatial data to assess the impact on development (e.g. economic activity, health) of global economic policies (e.g. aid, trade agreements), particular political economy phenomena (e.g. clientelism, favoritism), and (non-) natural disasters (e.g. oil extraction, earthquakes). While rather invested in Ecuadorian concerns, my work normally leverages global data.
